Una de les claus per assolir aquest objectiu \u00e9s la generaci\u00f3 d\u2019energia mitjan\u00e7ant fonts renovables (energia e\u00f2lica i fotovoltaica principalment).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A difer\u00e8ncia de les energies convencionals, les renovables compten amb un factor limitant com \u00e9s la variabilitat. \u00c9s a dir, no hi ha disponibilitat d\u2019aconseguir energia quan no fa sol (energia fotovoltaica) o no bufa el vent (energia e\u00f2lica). De la mateixa manera, hi ha molts moments en els quals no hi ha demanda suficient per aprofitar la generaci\u00f3 renovable disponible. Aquesta variabilitat en la generaci\u00f3 fa que el balan\u00e7 entre l\u2019oferta i la demanda d\u2019energia sigui inviable mitjan\u00e7ant aquests tipus de tecnologies. \u00c9s en aquest punt on pren import\u00e0ncia l\u2019emmagatzematge d\u2019energia com a eina per disminuir la variabilitat de les energies renovables. D\u2019aquesta manera, pot competir amb les energies basades en combustibles f\u00f2ssils.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6>Varietat de tecnologies<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hi ha una gran varietat de tecnologies que van des de grans infraestructures com, per exemple, les plantes hidroel\u00e8ctriques (emmagatzematge mec\u00e0nic), passant per dispositius m\u00e9s escalables, com les bateries (emmagatzematge electroqu\u00edmic), fins a dispositius que s\u2019instal\u00b7len a escala residencial, com poden ser els acumuladors d\u2019aigua calenta (emmagatzematge t\u00e8rmic).<\/span><\/p>\n<h6>Emmagatzematge in-front-of-the-meter<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El binomi de sistemes d\u2019acumulaci\u00f3 i energies renovables poden oferir serveis i\/o beneficis tant pels operadors del mercat i xarxes el\u00e8ctriques, com pels propietaris de les instal\u00b7lacions. Per exemple, a escala de generaci\u00f3 (tipologia d\u2019emmagatzematge coneguda com <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in-front-of-the-meter)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">un parc fotovoltaic o e\u00f2lic sense sistema d\u2019emmagatzematge hauria d\u2019abocar la totalitat d\u2019energia generada en el mateix moment de generaci\u00f3, sense tenir en compte les necessitats o capacitats reals de la xarxa. La qual cosa pot derivar en problemes en la distribuci\u00f3 d\u2019energia o l\u2019aturada en la producci\u00f3 d\u2019energia del parc. En canvi, amb un sistema d\u2019emmagatzematge, aquesta electricitat no admesa per la xarxa es podria acumular, per tal de fer-la servir en hores amb m\u00e9s demanda. Ajudant, d\u2019aquesta manera, en l\u2019optimitzaci\u00f3 de les xarxes de distribuci\u00f3 el\u00e8ctrica. A m\u00e9s, el propietari de la instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 podria obtenir un benefici pel fet d\u2019abocar energia a la xarxa en per\u00edodes amb preus de mercat m\u00e9s elevats.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6>Emmagatzematge behind-the-meter<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A escala de consumidor (tipologia d\u2019emmagatzematge coneguda com <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">behind-the-meter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), ja sigui industrial, comercial o residencial, els dispositius d\u2019acumulaci\u00f3 d\u2019energia tamb\u00e9 poden ajudar a optimitzar el consum d\u2019energia renovable. Per exemple, bona part de l\u2019energia generada en una instal\u00b7laci\u00f3 fotovoltaica residencial durant les hores centrals del dia no s\u2019aprofita. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s degut a que els principals consums es duen a terme durant les hores en les quals no hi ha sol (matins i nits).
